Pretty slick. Hope they win.

I am board member of a Non-profit group that owns land inside state land in the adirondacks. 600+ acres. We must drive on state land to get to the camp. If we sell the camp the new owners will not be given permision by the state to get to the camp unless they hit the mile plus in.

That leaves only the state to purchase the land. The worse part was in 1991 they owned 5000+ acres and sold 4600 acres to the state without keep the road as part of the land. Retards.

because the state owns the land around the camp. The only access to the camp is thru a gate. The state has granted the camp permision to use the roads as long as the camp owns the roads. The camp at one time owned the entire road, but sold it to the state.

The state has told us that if the camp is sold they will not grant the new owners rights to use the road. They can do this because the road is now part of the Adirondack park.

That leaves us with the only person who could buy the land is the state. Would would then return the land to it's natural state. Remove all buildings roads, etc...

Any land owner must be granted access to his land, it shouldn't matter who owns the right-of-way. The access is by an easement that stays with the land when it is deeded to the new owner.

They may be trying to mislead you so you don't sell the land.

Ok... so I wrote this guy thats named in the article. we conversed a couple times. he sent me some pics of what the "wheelers" were doing. I have to admit... I was expecting a bit more trail and not so much "ingenuity" on the wheelers behalf. They are driving metal poles into boulders and literally hauling their vehicles up using their winches. This is NOT a stock or even significantly modded friendly trail. Scott is about the only X I have seen who even stand a chance of navigating this "trail"... and that is only with his winch and at EXTREME risk of royaly destroying his paint and body panels.... I dont know guys... this one is kind of up in the air. Its not a trail like any of us understand it.

You are granted access by foot, bike, or boat. You just cannot use a car or truck on the road!

It is hard to explain where this land it. It is 7 miles down a state maintained dirt road. Then there is a gate the state owns. Past that gate 1 mile is the camp.
