Hi guys. Seriously thinking about getting a remote starter installed. The guy at Sun and Sound in Worcester said that, depending on the vehicle, i may or may not need an additional accessory that allows use of keyless entry. I have a 2015. Have you guys run into this? Do you know if its necessary? |

We put an auto starter in my wife’s 2016 Focus. We would have needed to sacrifice a chipkey or get a module for them to program as a clone of the chipkey. We decided to go the module route, to keep her spare. They needed a key for the install, to be able to clone it. My understanding is, the car needs to be fooled into thinking the real (unique to your car) key has started it. |
