Considering upgrading sway bar links up front. Should I just do bushings or the whole link? What's the benefit to doing the whole link?

First question, why are you swapping them? Making noise?

Hi, yes. Went wheeling and how I have an insufferable squeak up front whenever i go over any bump. I haven't had the wheels off yet but I'm thinking sway bar end links and/or bar bushings. I don't think it's the control arms because there's no clunk or steering drift. I checked and it's not the hood bump stops. It doesn't have the "creak" of a full spring. So I'm running out of things that could cause a small random squeak over bumps. No other symptoms. Truck is solid.

Easy way to eliminate the endlinks, just disconnect them and see if squeak is still there. Tie up the sway bar so it doesn't hit your rims. Endlinks and bushing are easy to change and should be done if you haven't anyhow. How old are they?

It's a 2015 w/ 50k. I'm hoping it's the links or bearings. If not, it gets an awful lot more expensive.

Small squeak over small bumps - hood latch and bump stops. Try greasing the latch and see if it continues. For the bump stops, I've put felt pads under them, and replace them from time to time when they wear out.

Between the grease and the felt - the squeaks go away for me.

Just bumping this thread for you. If the weather is good tomorrow (dry), I'm going to replace my felt pads and grease the latch. I'll take a pic.

Where did you bring it to get it done? How much did it cost?

I brought it to my driveway.

I bought the lube at Advance Auto. Can't remember when or for how much.

I bought a pack of felt furniture pads at Ocean State Job Lot. Can't remember when or for how much.

Both items together - maybe $10?

Felt pads are a no go. (But at least they're on there so they won't squeak in the future.) Need to get to the parts store for the lube. Any reason you went with lithium in particular?

I can't remember why I went with lithium. I think someone had suggested a while ago. It works for me. I put it on the leaf packs, too, during the winter for an added layer of protection.
