Any of you guys (Keith, Jeff, Lance...) experience a squeaky sound coming from the spare tire "spring a ma jig" that goes through the center of the spare and basically holds the tire up there. I notice it worst on warmer days and it squeaks on bumps and when I close the rear hatch. At first I thought it was the hatch. I tried to spray it with some silicone, and it went away for a little while. Now it's back. Any ideas?

If you sprayed it with silicone, and it went away for a while, try some white lithium spray grease. It will last a lot longer.

Good idea. I forgot about that stuff. That squeaking is driving me crazy.

I know I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, but it didn't even occur to me that maybe I didn't crank it up there tight enough. I'm just afraid to crank it up there too tight and break that cheap looking plastic chain holding the thing up there.

It should just be snug.
