This past weekend I took the X up to upstate NY. Everything went smoothly other then the tire sensor. Im new to Xterras and not sure if this is a common problem. It would flash for about 60 seconds and then stay solid for about 60 seconds, other times it would flash for a few seconds and then stop. I did notice a trend that it seemed to be happening when I would be going up a large hill(increased elevation) or going down a large hill(decreased elevation). I know a few of you are from upstate NY and was wondering if this happens to you, or do I need to bring it into Nissan like the manual recommends. It happened alot on Rt 12 and a few times in Mass.

Any help would be great! :D

Are you referring to your tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS)?

Have you checked your tire pressure lately? If not, it is possible that it right on the edge and the cooler temperatures are making the light come on. My guess is that it will soon stay on all the time.

Check your tire inflation.

Had tire pressure sensor light go on recently in my X 09 Off Road, the tires looked fine...didn't appear low....took it into the dealer since I was close by....mechanic said sometimes when it's extremely cold outisde the tire pressure light may come on and then go off as the tires heat up when you're driving along for a while (at least 60 mph)....
They ck'd each tire & added a little air to one tire, but hardly any air.
The light sensor light then went out......

This happens a lot during cold weather pressures drop just enough to turn on the lights.
the newer vehicles are very sensitive, like 3 psi. difference in presssures.

at the dealership we have people comming in all day for this.

set all your pressures (including the spare) and you should be fine.

okay awesome! That makes me feel a lot better about it. I checked my tires the few times visually as we stopped along the trip and they all looked fine, im glad to know its nothing more then the temp issue. I know it was an amateur question, thanks for the help guys.

On a side note, PML will be ordered within a week or so and then a engine and a tranny skid plate!!

It wont be ready for the 8th, but soon after for sure! Cant wait
