FYI.
Shrock has released his pricing on the 05 skids. I think ~$500 for the gas, front diff, Tranni, and T/C skid unpainted or coated. I don't think he is offering them coated.
Enjoy,
Keith

Cool! That is my next mod... I like that he has a gas skid in the package. I could always get the BP front skid until I am ready to do the bumper.

Or just buy the BP stuff as it will come powder coated and trail tested. Plus it will all be ready to ship by next week.
BP is working on the gas skid.

Yeah, I actually saw that BP was working on the gas skid. That's cool. I guess, I am just curious to see how the coverage is on the 05+ Shrock skids. If it's like the coverage on the 1st gen, I think I would like that. I can't wait to see what the BP package looks like mounted. The site has some pics, but I didn't see one with all of the available pieces mounted together.

Jim's Tranni skid is bigger, but i think marcel has a small skid to allow for heat disipation under the X.

Here you go. Big difference b/w BP and shrock skids. Price is about on par. I have a complete BP skid set on the way.
BP-
powder coated
small tranni skid, I believe due to heat issues
has them in stock.
Rock washers
Shrock
Gas skid

Very nice
Stupid Q? but how do they mount up?
I about the rock washers but do you need to drill at all or do Jim and BP use holes that are already on the truck?
It would be nice to have them coated even though youwill scratch them up but at least they won't rust from the top down. I guess you could always Rustolium them. ( that didn't sound right)
thank for the help Keith

BP's use the stock mount pts. Jim's u need to drill 2 holes. however, I don't know if the holes are for the gas tank skid.
rock washers are just big washers that are cup like. They prent the bolt heads from get srewed up.

Cool
Thanks for the info
This and the hitch are the next things for the X. I think the hitch is first because I don't have a rear tow point.

I purchased my hitch from 4x4parts.com $150 shipped. It is a valley hitch, which makes the factory hitch. Also installed the 7-pin connector in the rear bumper.

Do you know if this is the same hitch that someone was able to stuff a 285 back in the spare spot?

Not sure. It is the same as the stock hitch. So if the stock hitch can it will. You could always buy the shrock rear bumper without the tire carrier.

That's not funny

Ha! I do the same thing... I tell myself, "Okay, this is it for a while." BZZZZ... that bug is always around. I just put an order in for the skids... so, that's it for a while. At least until the skids get here.
