What size socket do you need to remove the nut that holds your Front Drive Shaft in place. Thank you.

Dang it
I just replaced the U-Joints on one last week and totally for got. I want to say that it was a 13mm and a pain in the ass. The factory torqued the piss out of them.
Def leave the X on the ground if you can. You will need to stop the front wheels from spinning so you can get a good amount of force on the nuts. If not the shaft spins as you crank on the nuts.
Dang it - Could of had a second person put their foot on the brake if I had a second person. Now I think of these things.
THANKS TOM!!!

Nah, it has got to be larger that 13mm. The one the Stephen had to barrow at Rausch.

It is 32mm stock. Mine was a different size because the shaft we removed was a used one from La Rana and for some reason the one he sent me was a 36mm. My passenger side is the correct size, which is 32mm.

Oh, that.
Thought you meant the one that Jason just had replaced after it exploded on a pot hole.
Ya, 32mm

Ahhh.
I was thinking of carrying one in my kit; I was a bit caught of guard at the past run. Would it be normal for one of you guys to carry both the 32mm and the 36mm or was the need for the 36mm a fluke?

The 36mm was a fluke because La Rana gave me a bogus nut with the half shaft he sold me.

Well, some people don't seem to understand why I ended up with a 36mm nut. I am reiterating for clarity sake.

Stephen must make sure we know it was not his fault that the incorrect nut was on there?
...plus I do not think he cares for La Bamba and will give him a dig at every opportunity.

I believe the guilty party here is actually La Rana's 4x4 shop. He has all the work on his X done a 4x4 shop in Virginia.
It is my belief, that when he was getting his Titan diff and Pathfinder V8 axles swapped in for his OEM Xterra diff and axles the shop took the nuts off the Xterra axles and put them on the new Pathfinder axles. Then, I think they just found some old 36mm nuts from a Chevy and put them on the old Xterra axles so he could sell them to someone like me. Axle nuts are most commonly 32mm or 36mm.
This is what I think happened.
My passenger side axle has a 32mm nut. I know this for fact.
And, to alleviate my problem, I just purchased a new 32mm nut from my local Nissan dealership today.
