Ok...here's the summary:
2008 SE X with 27.5K miles
1 week ago I completed a suspension lift including 2.0 Radflos, PRG UCAs and replaced LCA bolts with cam bolts. In the rear I did an Alcan leaf pack swap (~4"), replacement PRG adjustable shackles and rear Radflo emulsion shocks (extended travel).

I have been getting the ubiquitous rear driveline vibration, which I attempted to fix with 4 degree shims under the rear axle...this solved about 50% of the vibration.

Yesterday I loosened my ubolts and shook the truck....tightened down the u-bolts and gave it a ride.

The vibration is MOSTLY gone...BUT...now I am getting this very obvious click/clunking underneath my driver side floor boards...the noise and feel begins at parking lot speeds and quickens the faster i go...it does not go away at highway speeds...it just gets faster.

differential diagnosis: U-Joint failure: I shook the front drive shaft and both u-joints are rock solid...no wiggleing at all. I lifted the front tires off the ground and spun each tire separately....the front driveshaft spins quietly and smooth.

no idea what to do next. i am bringing it to the dealer this week sometime...either friday or saturday.
I am a nervous nelly and am afraid something will break/fail sooner than later leaving me stranded and more broke than before.

any ideas? sorry for the long post.

Just a thought... but is something rubbing in the driveline now? While the shafts may be solid, is it possible that there isn't enough clearance to allow for a full rotation without something contacting?

What tool did you leave on the X?

LOL

Can't be any "Stupider" than me hearing a Whistling/ Vibration sound coming from the front end. When I took the Mechanic for a spin he said to take the Rauch Creek Sticker off my Antenna. :bang:

dave...thanks for the laugh...that was a good one! unforunately, mine was a little bit more absent minded and potentially VERY dangerous.

please just don't forget to re-torque all of your lug nuts after taking your truck off jack stands from working on it.
