Noticed this on AC website.

Would this be worth while?

In my opinion no. I lowers your diff clearance and I have dragged my diff over miles of rocks. The only damage, besides scrapes, it the plug got all mangled and I replaced that.

I have one that came on the blue X, but I don't think I would buy one.

I hear that, but the pre-05s diffs seem to be a lot stronger axle setup then the D44's on the newer X's.

Always good to hear others experience with this.

I like this scare statement from AC: " Designed to protect your thin differential cover and bolts from damaging rocks and debris."

How thin is my diff cover?

I still believe the D44 is strong enough. It's the front one you have to worry about. :(

Thanks. I am not too worried about it. True the front one has given some people some issues. I hope to get the Blackpanther skids soon.

My big dilema is if I should also get the front bumper.

For anyone with an OR this plate will not work.

Might be a little late, as most of you that have the 05+ probably already know of this, but AC is actually manufacturing a skid for the Dana rear end. When I got my hitch, they backordered it for about 2 weeks due to manufacturing. I emailed them to make sure they had me down for the correct diff skid, and they did. I am assuming this must be why there is a delay in the shipping on those skids.
