Only a few of us on here, but I thought I would post it.
Body Lift
What are the advantages to put a BL on? Doesn't make your truck any higher off the ground.

The description on AC's page pretty much sums it up...basically, your just lifting the body off of the frame to allow larger tires to clear in the wells, and it makes the vehicle look taller too. Although, since AC says you can fit 32's with it, and we already know that 33's fit without it....that leaves a little unsaid, eh? It also doesn't effect the center of gravity as much as a suspension lift, but the only "actual" lift you get out of it is based on the tires that you can fit. Also, I suppose you could go through 3" deeper water without taking any into the cab, although other items may faulter before the water gets that high anyway.

Looks like a big pain in the butt.
Only advantage I see is bigger tires. You already run 33's.

I agree, it doesn't seem to be worth it for the 05+ unless it would open you up to a better selection of aftermarket wheels, without having to trim sheet metal. Well, that or let you step up to 35's, which I highly doubt there is enough room for aft of the front wheels anyway.

I wouldn't want to go to 35's. My 33's are perfect, if you ask me. I couldn't come up with a good reason for even researching it, but I know a lot of other people have put the lifts on previous years. Thanks for the info, Erik.

keep in mind though that a large part of the total vehicles weight is in the body.

I don't think the d44 copy can handle 35's.
Plus the 05 is already a fairly tall vehicle. Like Craz4sno says the weight is up top.

Here are some picts of it installed. The owner had a bitch of time installing this BL. Having real problems with the steering. Plus he has the 2.5" lift, AAL, and Shackles.
I don't like the BL.

Yea, no thanks on the BL. Just looks ugly. Look at the gap on everything.

maybe if he had some 35's on there. Which you can fit with the BL and Suspension lift. But I don't think the drivetrain can handle it.

I think it's a combination of things that makes that look ugly, Scott. Undersized tires, huge gap in the wheel wells due to small tires, and a big gap in that bumper.
He made a temp fix to the bumper gaps. LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER.

I don't like it either. I'll just stick with the suspension lift once I figure out which one I wanna go with..
