I took my X in last night to have a few things looked at.

1) My TC has been leaking for the past year or so (very slow seep) and it caused me some issues during the MA Bell run when I couldn't get it out of 4WD (thanks again for your help, Ernie). The oil had wept onto the plug in the back of the TC that controls the solenoid and corroded the connections slightly.

2) I've had a fairly nasty whine coming from the front of the engine for the past few months that's progressively gotten worse. I had a feeling it was the alternator as there's a lot of people who have issues with them due to their low placement on the motor. I have yet to hear of someone with a bad water pump.

3) Recently, when starting the truck in the morning (especially after driving in the slush/snow) the ABS, VDC OFF, and SLIP lights have been on. They turned off after a few minutes of driving but a few days ago, they turned on and never went out.

I just got off the phone with Clay Nissan of Norwood and they said that they're replacing the Alternator, fixing the TC leak, and replacing a faulty ABS sensor. I am glad I sprung for the 100k warranty as I now have almost 68k miles on the X. I will be picking up a rental car tonight and hopefully will have the X back tomorrow night.

This is the second time I've dealt with Clay on a warranty issue and they come highly recommended from me as I have had great experiences dealing with them. It also helps that they're just a few miles from my house

Picked up my rental last night; not my most favorite-looking car, but suprisingly fun to drive (good power, handling), and with the AWD it holds the icy roads pretty well. All-in-all, not bad for a pregnant station wagon

I hopefully pick the X up tonight.

OH, nope, it's the new Murano

They know about my mods, but they didn't directly contribute to the failing components. My suspension warranty is VOID but other than that, I'm covered 8)

I was going to say that. The front end looks a lot different.

Got the X back; shiny new alternator, new ABS sensor, and new TC switches and seals.

*****NOTE*****

on the 05+ recalls; I spoke with them and they said that right now, unless your airbag light is on, they can't fix it under the recall yet. Nissan has yet to send out the notifications and everything; they said that it'll be another month or two before they can start replacing them.
