Back to home-base in Memphis, TN for a few months before headed back to VT.

After nearly 200k miles the synchronizers in my 5-speed are giving up the ghost. Got a local highly recommended rebuilder lined up for $1050 carry-in/carry-out.

The clutch still looks OK, but "as long as I'm in there..." so I'm pondering between the Centerforce I, II, or Dual Friction, or other recommendations? I don't want anything too hard to push, as my 49 year old knees aren't getting any younger.

The multitude of Class-3 roads around VT have claimed my step rails.

(Just unbolted them and put them out on the curb for trash day.)
So, I gave myself a Veterans Day Gift and ordered my White Knuckle Rock Sliders.

Hopefully I'll have saved enough pennies for the Calmini 3" Suspension Lift Kit before I head back up to VT in January.

When I replaced my clutch on my first gen, I spoke with the guy who owned the transmission shop (a very highly respected shop that all the dealers in the area send their transmission, differential, and clutch work to) about the various aftermarket clutches. He said the Nissan OEM is equal to any of the aftermakets (including Dual Friction and Centerforce) and recommend I go with the OEM. I did, and had over twice the miles on it as I did on the original when the truck was finally totaled.

I just had to replace the clutch on my second gen, and again went with the OEM. I tend to side with the shop owner that the OEM is a good clutch and the aftermarkets don't really add much over the OEM.

Thanks!

I just recently found "the" local shop who all the local off-roaders use for transmission work, they also recommended sticking with the stock clutch.

Dropped the X off late last week to get in the queue, the 5-speed should be out tomorrow or thursday, and off for rebuild.
