Has anyone replaced the tubes on their heater core. Install manual says take apart the whole dash. BUT there are multiple videos on YouTube showing people pulling out the glove box and AC coil and are able to get at the heater core. About a 2-3 hour project vs all day or two project. Obviously you need to recharge the AC but I would rather do that then remove the whole dash.

Example video:

Thanks, I see three options:

Option #1: no heat, short circuit heater core by connecting supply and return together (might do this until i have time to do option 2 or 3 below)

Option #2: My first choice is to try the youtube videos and pull out only passenger side dash.

Option #3: removal of whole dash. Might resort to option #1 have no heat permanently.

In case i didnt mention it before, i broke the pipes to the heater core when doing the body lift years ago. I fixed by sleeveing the tubes with copper pipe and jb weld.

This weekend on the trail the remainder of the heater core (plastic) tubes broke. now it is a permanent drip/leak. I have to fix before continuing driving it. Luckily it must have happened towards the end of the event because i ran out of coolant when i was loading it on the trailer.

Did you remove the rubber grommets from the heater core tubes where they reach thru the firewall? You can gain enough room by doing so to attatch the hoses properly and then use 1min gasket material to create new grommet. My upper tube broke like yours and i was able to patch it up like so. If u still have original hoses buy new ones. When removing old hoses use a knife and slice them downward perpendicular to the opening, the lengthwise of the heatercores tube.
