Especially if you can still find a NISMO kit on Ebay
After 3 years, my muffler must be getting burned out inside. It has gotten louder, but it still sounds "good". I like running under long bridges or next to jersey barriers 8)

Perfect fit really. This is the seller I bought mine from. Price is the same but the shipping is now half of what I was charged.

A little louder.

Thanks. I've been thinking about headers for a long time. The cracks in my stock manifolds must be getting bigger. The noise doesn't go away when they get hot anymore.

Don't you love the flagger thing? Yeah...I'm running in a line with 50 other vehicles who are pulling away from me...but clearly I must be somehow going faster than them. Or are you trying to fly by waving your arms like that?
Rant over...no offense meant to flaggers :)

LOL

Hey if you call Steve, please let him know that you are a member of NEXTerra as well as ExploringNH and that Dave with the black Xterra told you about him. Appreciate it!
I get no kickbacks but you'll get some savings.

Yeah I'll mention it, thanks again.

Have you noticed any change in your fuel economy? It might be better to evaluate it after you get the CEL eliminators, but I was curious about it.

What about under-hood temps? I've always heard that headers will cause engine compartment temps to be higher. I was considering header wrap when I do mine but I really don't want to cover up those nice looking headers!

Does anyone on here know if the starter comes out any easier with headers installed? Supposedly you can't get it out without pulling the stock manifolds off.

It might seem like a lot of questions....but I've been trying to make decisions on what I'm going to do along with this header project. If the starter still doesn't look like it would come out, I'll replace it at the same time while the manifold is off. Mine will be 14 yrs old soon. I shouldn't even say it out loud...but it's probably on borrowed time.

Sooo....how are the headers now that it's been 6 or so weeks? Did you get the check engine light eliminators?

Sure did, all is well.

Not really any fuel savings that is measurable, so far as the temp under the hood I can't say. I'm glad I had it done. Seems like more power when I hit the gas. I need to take it easy because it draws attention a little if I get into in on the road. Better pick up and mid range, more responsive.

Awesome! I was hoping you'd say those CELE worked. It's header time :woohoo:
So, if you don't mind me asking...how many hours of labor did Steve's hit you for? I was talking to my go-to local guy the other day. He's a great mechanic and I've known him for years so I'm going to use him to do it. I trust him... He was a little apprehensive about time and fitment issues as he has a small one bay shop and doesn't want to tie up his workspace for more than a day. I told him I didn't think that would be the case, and that I hadn't heard of any issues outside of fasteners that were tough to get to.
