Has anyone had this problem? If so can do you know what to fix..?? I drove home from B2S run this weekend and all my fan controls worked (setting 1, 2, 3, 4) I got in my truck this morning and only #4 works (high fan speed)

Do you think:
A) The wiring in the back of the controls came loose?
B) A fuse is blown?
C) Need a new control module?

Im not sure where to start so if anyone has run into this problem let me know.

Thanks,
Romeo

Fan control module. It's on the passenger side, right under the glove box. It comes off with one screw and a plug. The new part is less than $30.

Same here, my #2 hasn't worked for about a year. If it's only a $30 part, maybe I'll actually fix it. . .

It is your blower motor resistor that is causing your fan control dial to malfunction. This is a common problem with the Xterras. It is a quick fix with a cheap part.

Just replaced the resistor ($26 from Courtesy) and the filters ($27 from Courtesy) and it worked like a charm!!

There was damage to the resistor board, it was pretty obvious once I pulled it out.

Took all of 15 minutes to change the resistor and filter and pull the blower motor to check it out.

Thanks for the advise guys!

I believe that would be caused by a bent/kinked vent cable. Check out this NOR Defrost A/C Disable to view the back of the unit. Should give you an idea of where to look. Hope this helps you out.
