Am I correct in saying that all the '00-'01s came with electric fans in front of the radiator while all the ''02s-'04s did not? Any idea on what would happen if I removed the fan from my '00? Just wondering if, because Nissan did not include them on the '02-'04 model if it is just not really needed. Just a hypothetical question.

I would imagine that it would over heat if you idled to long and you took your fan out...

Or are you saying in addition too the clutch fan they had e-fans?

I believe that yes, he is referring to the condensing electric fan in addition to the clutch main fan.

I'm not sure, I was hoping this thread was about removing the clutch fan and putting in E-fans.

Yes they did. My 2000 has both and my 2002 does not. The 2000 can idle forever and will never overheat. I have always wanted to get the parts and put it on the 2002. They removed it because they were cheap. Why would you want to remove it? It's value added.

Just asking is all, just asking...

I have a 2001 that did not come with the fan...but then it warms up a little faster on cold winter days.

But does it stay cool in the summer and on the trails?

The electric fan kicks on with a temperature sensor and does not come on until it's warm enough, so with it, it does not warm up any faster.

Mine rarely turns on. I've only heard it a few times. Perhaps that's why they did away with it since the cooling system is quite efficient for the engine. Either way, it's a good addition and best for when you are on the trails and getting little airflow.

That fan saved my ass since my clutch fan is shot.
The fan was on a lot for me when sitting idling for a while.

I definitely wouldn't remove it.
Consider it a free insurance in the event your primary fan shits the bed.
