Have been thinking of installing an electric fan in my '01. Who here has done this and where did you get the fan from?? If u have any other info that would be great.

Thanks

I have looked into it. To do it right, it's not a cheap conversion.

A good place to start looking: http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/index.html

I?ve been thinking about doing the same thing some time in the future. I?ve been researching off and on for a few years but stoped when I saw a complete ?kit? from http://www.concept-customs.com/.

I think it?s our best option and will be using it when I get around to doing the conversion. Might not be until next year though.

That's just a starting price but it's the same guy who did one for "soccerbrace" and he raves about it.

This info was on the XOC site before it got erased:

A cheap way to get a electric fan is to get to your local Junk Yard/U-Pull It and look for a Ford Taurus with the 3.8L V6 which has a two speed electric fan. Then all you'd need is two 30amp relays (one for each speed), a 30amp switch, and some good gauge wire. The Taurus Fan is apparently a common swap for Toyota owners. Most wire the low speed fan to be on all the time or with a temp switch and the high speed wired to come on when the AC is turned on. You'll have to cut/trim to fit but it will be worth it and wiring it is very easy. The relays are cheap only a few $ from Radio Shack or Napa. The fan can be aquired for less then $50.

Is this what you have Dave?

The 4x4parts.com fans are expensive, so I don't think I'd go that route.

Also, I'd love to increase the size of my radiator if I could loose the clutch fan that's crowding everything. The single fin just isn't cutting it with my mud tires.
