What is up with Nissan parts?!?! The small rod that connects the transfer case shifter with the transfer case is snapped. Nissan will not sell just the small rod. They say you have to buy the whole freakin' shift assembly!!!!! What a ripoff!! It's clearly a seperate piece that is held on with two bolts oh they'll sell you the bolts, but not the rod! Anyone know where I can get this part? I've called a few junk yards but they either don't have an X or they don't have the part. I really don't want to spend $250.00 just to get the one small part that I need.

Thanks!

I'm not picturing exactly what part you are looking for. If you can, take a picture. Those are all pretty standard looking parts and I'm sure you can find something similar or create something that will work. It's not exactly a high tolerance system so something could be fabricated for a few dollars.

Also, check with another dealer or online. Often they say you cannot get individual parts but you can. Nissan says they don't sell the bearings for the alternator, for example, and I was able to get them from Nissan when I found the part number.

Is your part listed here?

Dagger,

It's the piece that's connected at the bottom of 33270M that connects to SEC.333. I'll try and take a pic and post it. It might be possible to fab something but it's got ball-type joints at each end.

From Xterraparts site the part 33270M appears to be one whole unit named "LEVER COMPL-TRANSFER CONTROL". Check out this page for reference to confirm but you might want to see what is broken since it is almost $300 for the part.

Yeah, that's what I found as well. I've started calling junk yards to see if I can strip it from a scrap X. Unfortunately it's slim pickens out there. Too many of us crazy X lovers keeping them alive and running. :D

Depending on what's broken, take it apart and have it welded for $25.

Yeah I actually know what your talking about. I had to replace one on a frineds X.. It's a farily easy fix but it's the fact of finding one. We had to get one from a junkyard..
