I like them but $1000 per set seems a bit much; your thoughts?discuss?

They're about twice the cost of the Nissan ones. Not a bad idea, but quite pricey. While the stock ones don't fail a lot, I have bent one and as much of a bitch they are to replace, it may be worth it.

I do like the upgraded ball joint. Looks like it bolts right in to. Easy to find 1 ton Chevy parts. I could steal those from work.:D

I know I don't want to do mine again.

I had thought about boxing my new ones in before I replaced them. It wouldn't take much fabricating to do while they are off the truck. I also trussed my shock mount locations since that is where they do tend to fail.

I have a set that I am going to have plated, gusseted and new shock mounts, then swap for my stock ones...

SLR has the same $1000 price for his stock size boxed LCAs.

You can see a little of it in that pic.

I'm with Scott.. Although they are nice and all but that is kinda pricey.. I think I'd rather get the TC set up and gain a little bit of flex.

The TC and SLR ones are extended for longer travel and obviously require the other components to work.

These look to be OEM replacements that are solid using Chevy ball joints.

I'm with Scott on this, why not just beef up the stock control arm with steel?
Maybe even swap out the ball joints with the chevy ones while you're fabricating? :D

Would the upgraded ball joints FIT in the area the stock ball joints are currently located?? Is there room to drill and tap 4 holes for the bolts?

From what I understand you need install shock hoops, different shocks, CVs and steering with the TC and SLR LCAs; IMHO you might as well SAS at that point. I do not possess any welding tools or skill and even if I did I lack the engineering know-how to be able to ?beef up? the stock LCA in a manner that I would trust so I would have to pay someone. Even though I don?t really know what is involved I?d think it would be hard to modify the OEM LCA to accept that type of ball joint. I?ve changed the ball joint on one LCA (Dave changed it, I handed him tools and told bad jokes) and I would like to get the shock mount locations ?trussed? but again, lack the know-how, tools, skill. Other than that my OEM LCAs have not failed; if they did I?d like this option over OEM replacements.
