I have a '04 X and bought my X new and have never had a issue with it running in the cold until this year.If it's under 20 degrees it runs like poop.If it doesn't run for at least 10 minutes it stalls as soon as I put it in gear (I have an automatic) I have always let it warm up before driving in the cold previously and still do any suggestions on things I could try to maybe solve this.

Well, you shouldn't have to let it warm up. It's an electronically controlled engine and it should run from the start. Driving slowly for the first few miles is not a bad idea, however.

Not that I'm a fan of of dry gas, but perhaps, and very likely it may be water in the gas. Try a bottle of Iso-Heat to absorb some water in the gas. Better yet 1/3rd of a can of SeaFoam in the tank may help.

Also, when was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? If it has been more than 30k, you may want to try that too. Fuel is denser in the cold and if it is a little clogged, it may show up more in the cold.

One more thing, have you ever changed your transmission fluid? It's the one expensive thing I do at the dealer since they can pump it out.

Can we clarify if you are talking about an 8oz can or the 16 oz can.

I went to do the full seafoam treatment and luckily realized they were talking about 8oz cans and I had bought the 16oz ones. Also, side note, I highly recommend that treatment, idle is a lot cleaner now.

x2 on the SeaFoam. I used it in my Ranger it it helped a ton. I'm guessing he's talking about the 8oz can.
