hey my buddy was looking into getting an X and he sent me this truck..http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=254479557&dealer_id=76918&car_year=2003 and i notice that it has a VDC option.

I was like whats that? so i looked it up and i guess its almost like a LSD but better and you can turn it off and on????

Tell if i'm wrong, or at lease close.

Vehicle Dynamics Control on my X slows the engine RPM if one of my wheels starts to spin... it lowers it to below 2000 RPM's

To my knowledge it is NOT like a LSD...

If I'm on dirt and want to do donuts... I CANNOT... Unless I turn OFF the VDC

I have an 06 X so it may be different on the 03...

Also if you read the vehicle description below that I copied from that page you'll see they wrote that it has a rear locking rear diff.. That was only on the 2nd gens as well.. I think someone messed up on some info along the way. Cause the VDC was also only on the 2nd gens. But what's odd to me is the placement of that VDC button. I know on mine it's on the center consoule and not to the right of the steering wheel like in that pic.

I think they just copy and pasted the description from another truck. If you notice, some of the components are even repeated.

That's what I was thinking.. Mike..

And as far as the VDC button on the side of the steering. I bet they bought it or got it from a boneyard and used to run something with.. The location of the next gens VDC button is in the bottom of the center counsole.

..unless they moved it.

I know a lot of guys that move it in order to get 4 aftermarket swtiches in the center part (looks better) and put the VDC button beside the steering wheel. This doesn't seem like its the case, though.

I'd be willing to bet that the button is used to control something else. Do they make an electronic aftermarket locker for the 1st gens?
