I've never had it rub there, but personally, I wouldn't worry about it unless the tire catches on the sheet metal. It's only rubbing at flex, so it will probably not be an issue.

However that first 2 1/2 inches of sheet metal could easily be pounded in slightly.

I've got the same set up as you with the same size tires. I also have that mark on the inner fender. It's from the rear axle articulation. When you flex out, the tires are at an angle with the tops tipped in. I'm not worried about it.

I have that as well with the 35's on stock pathy rims and 3+2 lift.
I wouldn't worry about it as long as there is nothing for it to catch on (as Dagger said)
Way back when I managed to crack the plastic cover on the top of the inside passenger side wheel well with 31" tires on stock rims.
I have no idea how.

If he keeps wheeling it, it won't rust. The tires will keep it nice and shiny.

But it's not a bad idea to do before next winter.

My tires rub there too. The 31's did when I had them and just the pml, and the 33's do now, but not as much d/t body lift.

(stock rims, btw)
