 Post subject: 265/75 r16 on an '04

I've read a lot of topics here and on xterraownersclub.com regarding 265/75 16s and how they'll fit on my X. It seems that there are different opinions. Will they fit with zero trimming or not? Just some minor trimming to the mud flaps?

Thoughts?

from what i've gathered they do fit but it all depends on the individual truck and on the tire itself

I don't think you should have any problems at all, if anything when you turn the wheels to full lock you may have slight rubbing

so short answer shouldnt have to trim at all, if you do it'll be minor

They will fit just fine. Trimming depends on the year of your truck since the 2002+ trucks already have the plastic trimmed from the factory.

isn't that the "stock" size tire for the '04 XTerra??? I'd check, but I sold mine...if that is the stock size you shouldn't have any problems.

I think that is a little larger than the stock tires. It equates to about a 31.5" x 10.5" tire.

I have a set of 32" x 11.5" MT's on my 2002 with only a PML. When the rears are completely stuffed, or I am locked to the right, there is a little bit of rubbing. All of the plastic is still there on mine, so with a little bit of timming it would be fine. A 3" BL is sitting in my living room right now, so I'm not going to bother with the trimming.

Yea stock on a '04 is 265/70/r16. I just moved up to 265/75 and only had to do slight trimming of the front bumper
