This does not really matter to anyone, since if your reading this, your registered, but please be aware that today I changed a setting on the board, forcing useres to register before being allowed to view the board.

The reason behind it was just to stop people from just lurking and make them tell us who they are!

Lurkers are good sometimes, let's them feel out the board before registering. We get pissed when we have to reg to view someone's photos on some hosting site.......

I agree with Jim on this one. Some people like to look around a little first. Let's try it and see what happens.

Even though registering only takes a few minutes, sometime they just won't do it unitil they are engaged into the forum.

No, no, if it works, go for it. It's usually good to try something new, and if it goes well, keep it.;)

hah... whatever you did set off my work's alarms and I was denied access to the board's homepage... had to sneak in by going through history.

What you might want to do is allow access to certain sections to give a lurker a feel for the board, and once people join the board they get full access to all the threads... that's how they have it set up on SOXC... you have to reply back to the auto welcome email and tell the admin a bit a bout yourself, and then they grant you full access.

hmm.. but you already have a secret section for paid members dont you?

I agree with Pezzy about you can look/visit the board but maybe not all of it unless you are signed in or registered. Only reason I putting in my 2 cents is I usually check out the board in the morning and afternoon at work along with others, but for some reason works computers will not let me sign on to view boards, not just this one but all of the ones I'm on. It must be something they have set as a security thing.
