Greg before you order talk to us though. If we get them all done at the same time, we can save more money.

I am in the same boat... waiting for the tax return. Should be direct deposited in a week'ish. I'll post when it comes and I can order.

I am jealous. Counted my change in my coil bank last night (this sounds so sad) and I only have $413. Oh well. Let's see what the next week or so brings.

Actually it is a $100 because I won't need the front skid from BP. I am about 2 to 3 days away from selling the mrs. Time to go hit the jeweler store.

Okay. Someone help me make a decision.

I have ~$750 for mods. I have my $415 in change plus $325 in money saved for BP skid plates since my b-day and x-mas.

If I get the bumper at ~$640 w/o shipping I will have $100 left for 1 skid plate.

Or
I can get all skids $500 w/o shipping and have money left for a 1.5" lift.

Any thoughts. I am putting too much thought into this.
what is best of the trails?

Man, that is tough Keith..but let me try to help...

Recalling Rausch Creek, you scraped a bit and the front bumper may have limited your approach a couple of times too (thinking of that gulley and a rocky mud pit somewhere)...
soo...if your saving 15% now, perhaps it would be more practical to save it on the (1) expensive item (the bumper) so you don't have to worry about that plastic bumper cover and can protect that low radiator in the front. Then later on you can piece together a set of skids one by one as you can. You wouldn't regret not having the 15% discount as much if you were to space out the cost of each skid plate separately over time. And if you went with the BP skids instead of shrock, you may not get a discount, or may be able to get a discount at another time.

Make sense?...Just thinking out loud....

On the other hand, skid plates are probably the most practical mod for offroading...next to sliders of course, but you already have those :)

At some point I'd like to get a full set of skids, but I'm not exactly decided between the shrock skids and the BP skids.

I would agree on the theory that Erik put out. The next 15% might not be for a long time..so in the end, it would cost you more.

And the $100 is half way towards a lift...so not bad.

or 100 is the oil pan skid plate. Plus with the skid plates I can purchase them when I have the money and i have the factory skids.

Thanks for your help. Jeff let me know when you are going to order and I will give you my decision.

i would love to get a bumper, but part of me feels it is more important to work towards full skids first.

remember..skids protect things that when broken..can cause your truck not to run.

of course...the bumper looks sweet and if i had the money, i would buy one today :D

Skids are more important, yes, but you can buy skids one at a time. If you can swing the bumper, get that...it's a huge savings and then you can buy the skids one at a time and your wife will never know.

No Honey, I had to send the last one back because it was defective, this is a replacement. :D
