2003 CC 4x4 was having issue w rpms jumping at idle from 800 to 1000 at random. Then the next day no start. Dude says he had timing belt and tune up done 1 year ago. We checked fuses, intake, throttle body, battery, starter, neut safety switch and fuel pump. Engine would crank but not turn over. Pulled spark plug wire off cap to see of spark but nothing. Changed caps and then we got spark. Smelled gas at some point, so we pulled some spark plugs out and they were dry. With new cap she begins to turn but shakes like a bullrider and chokes. So then we changed while distributor. Same issue but with less attempt of engine turning over. Any ideas? MAF?

Well.... About that see... We got it started but kept choking. Sergio wound up takin it to a mechanic who diagnosed the MAF and re clocked the rotor. I placed the rotor one click off. But supposedly the MAF being filthy was the reason she wouldnt function. However we swapped w Rorys and all was well so idk. As far as what people been tellin me if the rotor was off then the timing would just be off it wouldnt make it stall. We werent thorough on the air examination portion of the diagnosis.
