So I put the truck in 4wd after sitting for a week and it is 10F outside and i get out of the driveway and i hear poping, grinding and banging coming from the front driver side wheel (i think) i cant pinpoint it exactly but i think it is a blown hub. But both front tires appear to be grabbing and not broken. Can it be the hub about to go? or a piece has broke but still grabs? Also the sound goes away when it is in 2wd.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks. I hope i can fix this before the Northern Exposure run.

Idk if its the same as mine maybe the front driveshaft since its only when in 4wd and everything else ok. But i have yet to go in 4lo. I was in 4hi today and the wheels wobble and theres a metal squeaking that i was told was the ujoints and a ball inside needs some tlc. It just felt wrong i had to pull over. Checked my axles and my hubs are both virgins so that must be the case. Honeslty i felt mines was axle or hubs too, but hey what do i knows?

If you have time and are able to, cancel the Warn hubs and get a set of the old hardbody hubs. I had nothing but trouble with the Warn hubs from day 1, and never had a problem with the hardbody hubs.

UPDATE: It wasn't the front hubs or the CV shafts. Can it be my front Diff or Front drive shaft? Here is a you tube of it (sound only) Please let me know your thoughts and if it has happens before to anyone. The sound is only when the 4wd is engaged which makes me believe the banging is the drive shaft but it is dark and i couldn't see.

Sounds like a CV or u-joint to me. I'd check your CV axles again and then the u-joints in the front drive shaft (you ever grease or change them...ever?).
That front diff doesn't break unless its dry or you've been in there and F'd it up. I think its the same for the TC. I've seen a drive shaft twisted before ether one of those broke.
Can you put the truck up on four jack stands, all wheels off the ground and run it in 4WD?

    1) CV's ill check again.
    2) Front drive shaft grease: No i have not ever oops ill check
    3) Pick up truck on jack stands: I can do that. i think ill do that this weekend. If i do that i should just watch the CV shhafts right? then i can figure out of ones broken?
