I have a 08 xterra that I have six replaced 6 of the pressure monitors dealer tells me it common for them to go like that and we live in the northeast. Has anyone had this problem. Thank you mike

Yes, they go bad. You can run without them, just check your tire pressure every week or so. And ignore the light on the dash.

I've been running with out them for a year or so. If you want the light gone make a tpms pipe bomb(it doesn't explode don't worry) just google this
tpms pipe bomb and click a link. Pretty straight forward

The tire monitors were always going on my X. Every time I took it into the dealer for a service/repair, I had at least one replaced. I think that over the 100k miles I drove the X, I had to ahve the tire monitor system checked 5 or 6 times.
When I went to my last set of wheels/tires, I decided to say f-it and went with the standard valve stems and did away with the TPMS. I put a piece of electrical tape on the dash so I couldn't see it blinking all the time.
