.....so i took it to the beach!!!! when i was done came back to the pavement took it of the 4wd and light stayed on(not as bright) any ideas???

Mine did that once, I did the whole go in reverse for a bit and then forward, but the light eventually went out on its own after about 5 minutes. I did shift it back into 4lo and then back to 2wd, just played around with everything.

Your manual hub might be busted. Lift the wheel off the ground and see if it's unlocked.

i did play with the shifter and nothing happen ill check if i busted the manual hub like Tom sad and post up latter thanx 4 advise......

Sometimes the light lingers on after you get out of 4wd. Usually, it resets if you shut off the engine, and restart a few minutes later.

When I had my '02, the 4x4 light would be very dimly lit after coming out of a car wash. Is it possible a sensor is dirty/wet?

it was probably wet cause yesterday morning it was not on but i still checked my hubs b4 i set 4 my day journey and went to the beach again and had no trouble i just didnt hit puddles as hard!thanx 4 the help people!!!
