Maybe someone can shed some light on this. I have a factory alarm. It acts more like a Keyless Entry than an alarm.

• If I hit the LOCK button, the Horn chirps.

• If I hit the PANIC button the Horn sounds like an alarm.

• The Unlock Button pressed Once, the driver door unlocks, 2X all doors unlock.


Where the problem lies is.....

• The Security LED does not function (no blinking, nothing)

• If I try to enter the car WITHOUT the key, the alarm DOES NOT sound.


Anyone familiar with this issue and how do you resolve it? The FSM doesn't cover alarms. My last option is to bring it to the Stealership to see if they can remedy the problem.

I was looking to have a Remote Start installed after the Holidays. So I'd like to get this fixed first, Otherwise I will just get a whole new Alarm/Remote Start unit.

I've had the same problem. My security light blinks, but the alarm only goes off when it wants to. I haven't found any info on it. I was just gonna get a new alarm system
