I have an scangauge, I go to a technical school so I'm sure someone here has a volt meter, there's an auto shop on campus that I can get too but I'm not sure they have diagnostic tools, but there is a autozone down the road and I saw a "leak detection kit" when i was there getting maf cleaner today.

Thanks for your help! :)

Welllll it wasn't the battery.

I did notice something that I thought was strange with air intake assy. I'll take a pic tomorrow, I barely made it back to my apartment from autozone.

I was flooring it and only getting 2k rpms and it was sputtering like they portrayed the old crank powered cars in movies.

Was the intake hose split?
That would be cause by a bad motor mount, and would definitely cause the truck to drive like crap.

Is your truck supercharged?
Sounds like it's in limp mode.

It's supercharged, yea. And the hose wasn't split but it looks like it was slipping off of the connector for the MAF housing.

Try reconnecting the hose, tightening the clamp and pull the battery terminal to reset everything.

See if it's still in limp mode afterwards.
If the hose connecting to the MAF isn't sealed or if there is a vacuum leak, it will run like crap.

Agreed! Any vacuum leak will cause the truck to barley run. You're lucky it runs at all.

Picked up a MAF sensor from a junk yard (Thanks Ernie) off a frontier for about $60, gonna plug it in later and hope for the best.

Reattached the intake hose, cleaned everything, plugged in junk yard MAF... still no go, I'm getting a crank but the engine won't turn over. Could the junk yard MAF be bad also....could this really be the distributor like it was thought a few weeks back?

Think these resonator hoses could cause problems?

Now it's getting dark, I have to go get some food in me and getting ready the spend the rest of the night with my nose in some books, big midterm tomorrow afternoon..

I'm flying to Florida on Saturday and would love if my truck wasn't just sitting around

Are you saying it turns over, but the engine won't start.

Again, any vacuum leak will create a big problem. It's been a long time since I have had a resonator on there, but the leads are plugged. I would start with any vacuum hose and check for leaks. From what I see, they look cracked.

Yea, I always get confused with that terminology, its acting like it wants to start but its not starting (or what I know as turning over)

How do I check for vacuum leaks, just follow hoses and look for cracks? Is there a specific method, again, thanks for all of your help, I'm pretty new to anythin automotive. :)

It would have to be a large leak for it not to start at all.
does it act the same with both MAF sensors
and did you have an issue with your Distributor??

Acted the same with both MAF sensors, and I'm not sure because when I posted the original symptoms over on clubxterra, a few people said it was the distributor, shop said nay, arcin spark plugs, then tried to replace MAF sensor and wiring harness

The only thing that you may also want to check that s not too hard to do is check the fuelpump connector on the sending unit.
there was a safty recall on the sending unit, the connectors cracking and corroding, so it could stall or not start.
It is a shot but with no fuel it would cause that to happen.
to check pull the P/S rear seat cusion up and there is a small metal cover screwed down remove the cover and you will see the connectors there shoud be a cover over them if the recall was performed and a wax coating over the connectors, if not, pull the two pin plug and inspect in side for dirt and green corrision, if present the the unit will need replacement.
after that with out me seeing the X in person it is hard to tell why it is doing what it is.
other than you doing some
Basic checks for spark and fuel pressure and sensor connector conditions.
I hate to suggest anything that my cost more money and to throw parts at it.
a bad Dist. or coil could cause the no start no spark and running condition but you had the codes for the MAF sensor.
Midas said that you had arching wires
and replaced them but it still ran poorly?

You may have to break down and send it to a dealer near you to get a proper look at it and see what is going on to cause your condition.

Once they give you an idea of what it is
perhaps you can still repair it yourself but it sounds like you have more than one thing going on with it at this time.

It sounds like we are still looking for the root cause of your concern.
Sorry for not being able to help you more Nick
again without testing the X it is hard to pinpoint what is accually going on.
