 Post subject: Clicking front hubs
PostPosted: Thu Dec 08, 2005 4:11 pm
Well, to those of you that were at the Dec 3 Paragon run, you might know what im talking about.

my front hubs are making a click sound when getting on and off throttle on steep inclines.

At one point scott was able to visually watch and said that my front hubs were engaging and the front wheels were being driven, however the sound scares me.

im wondering is simply replacing them with a manually locking hub might be a quick and relatively cheap solution?

anyone that might have any insight or happen to see and hear what i am talking about please chime in.

The only thing I can think of is that the fixed cam assembly may be engaging and disengaging. The only way to tell is to take it apart, which is fairly easy. Just take of the six bolts on the hub, remove the snap ring (which, by the way, is a real PITA even with snap ring pliers, and look at all the parts for wear. I have an exploded view, but I can't seem to copy the pic from the ESM. Anyone an expert at Adobe?

If I get it to work, I'll post it.

Of course, you could always get manual hubs. :D

if the pic is in Acrobat..take a screenshot (press Print Screen) and then go into Photoshop, open a new document and hit paste. Save as a gif or jpg and post it here.
