For those of you thinking of upgrading your steering system in the future, and you should, do not get the Calmini system. Mine has been on since last December, so, less that a year and the idler arm bushing is shot. They are not admitting they have a problem and want me to send in the idler arm for replacement...which means taking it off the truck until they send me a new one. No friggin way.

Luckily, I bought a new one from Alliedacid which I will put on and I will have a machine shop put bearings in the old one. When I buy a SS for the blue X, it will not be Calmini's

What are the advantages of getting a new steering system?

If, when, you lift your truck and the addition of big, meaty tires, the stock steering was not designed for those stresses. The Calmini system is well built, and much heavier than stock, so you are less likely to break someting. The system is simple and made well, they just have poor bushings. These are a wear part, but they should last longer.

I don't know much about the 2005+ steering and it will last fine, but when you pound the shit out of your truck like I have, the steering system is required.

So it won't be required for a lift then.

Jeff will be needing that steering system. hes got the bug, and that 5in lift will be in come spring, just watch.

Scott, why not just send it in and let them replace it- they're offering, ya know? or sweet talk them to send u the part first to replace and then ship the bad one back- cry, it usually gets u everything :) or else just give ol'yeller a break and drive that hot ass blue x u have [if not, i will!].. im all about the solution.. but sorry ur having a difficult time with them :(

Hey, I've been up since 5am, checking the boards and writing evals. Best time of day. No one to interrupt me.

Good morning to you too, Sarah.

"Butt crack of Dawn":P Reminds me of an old girlfriend: Dawn Georgia, we used to call her, "Early Morning Texas":D

I can't spend $2,600 on it!! I would drop $400 for the DS lift!!!
