I have a couple of quick fists which I have until now just had screwed into the rear paneling to mount a shovel, however, they have since come loose, and I need to bolt them in.

Are there any how-to's out there for removing the rear interior side panels?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if I'd trust a plastic panel to hold the weight of a shovel. Ya might try to find a part of the sheet metal behind the plastic to tie into...

At least use a bolt-through anchor, toggle bolt, and/or fender washers of some type (preferably both). You could even try a slim wood panel.

Rear interior kinda sucks on the 2gen. Start by pulling down the hatch seal. Then remove/loosen the upper pillar plates (C and D - have fun with the seat belt). Next, pop the floor plates including the hatch kick plate/latch area. Don't remember if there's anything under the seats to remove. Once the floor and pillars are out you can tackle the side panel.

Thank you both! Weight is not really a concern with it, it is a very lightweight backpacking extendable snow shovel, mounted vertically, with the handle touching the floor to offload some of the weight.

I was going to mount it with locking bolts on the backside to hold it in place.

Thanks again for the tips!
