My IF bumper arrived Thursday, after spending most of Friday night wrestling with rusted bolts to remove my trailer hitch, spent the afternoon today removing the rear bumper and installing the new one. Unfortunately UPS lost my hardware, so I can't mount the swing arm until I pick up a new bolt tomorrow.

Nice!

Is UPS going to reimburse you?

Just going to copy and paste my post from thenewx here as it's been kind of a headache. lol

"I originally ordered the rear bumper and corners, but after seeing the issues with the corners I canceled that part of my order. I received my refund for those fairly quickly, so no issues there.

The bumper arrived with the now-common bent upper tab, but after about 5 minutes with a hammer had it back to useable form, had to sacrifice some chips in the powdercoating though. Will have to go back with some touch up paint. The CB tab is also bent downward, but haven't bothered with that yet. UPS lost the swing arm bolt, so I had to go pick one up from Fastenal for an additional $18. The license plate light cover arrived cracked, minor inconvenience I guess.

Once I got the bumper mounted, noticed the same as others, right side has proper spacing, while the left side is snug to the corners.

As others have mentioned, I have to lift the swing arm and push all my weight into it in order to latch it shut, never owned a swing arm rear bumper, so not sure if that's just the nature of these style of rear bumper carriers.

Had to bend the hi lift bolt upwards about 1/8" as it would not fit, otherwise it would not be sitting on the base plate. As a result, the hi lift does not press flat against the upper mounting bolt, may have to put some washers on it.

Spare tire studs are covered in powdercoat, having a difficult time getting lug nuts to screw on. They were also exposed from the packaging when I picked it up from UPS, not sure if packaging just fell off during shipping or what, but the first few threads are a little dinged up from being shuffled around...going to try a different set tomorrow.

For the majority of this I was willing to give some slack to IF, but it's gotten pretty frustrating now. I'm going on day 4 of the install tomorrow."

Dude, I'd complain to UPS and IF. Was there insurance on the shipment? You should get either a refund or a new bumper.

That is a quite a commentary on quality. Sorry you had this experience and perhaps others will take note. Makes me glad I went the way I did.

I have emailed Corey and now waiting on a response.

As for UPS, not sure if I can still do anything about them? I did take pictures of everything when I first got the bumper, but now that its been almost a week since I picked it up and the bumper is partially installed on my rig, almost seems like just more of a headache than it's already been.

UPS is responsible for the shipment until you sign for it. If any damage is noticed it would be at the time you accepted the shipment you should mention it. If something was shipped and you didn't get it, that would be between the shipper and the carrier.

That's where I went wrong, didn't notice any damage until I had gotten home and unwrapped it all.

Maybe it was damaged during shipment, and someone re-wrapped it to cover it up.

Its a shame for the amount of money spent there are some issues to over come. Most of which dont seem too bad.

But having to lift the swing arm to get it to shut is a real pain.

What kind of hinge is it? Bolt on brass bushings? Greasable bearings?

Maybe a couple shims, can be a quick fix.

Yea it's too bad, but you're right, all fixable issues with some tweaking.

You are correct about the swing arm, bolt on a brass bushing. Biggest issue Im having at the moment is finding a wrench or socket big enough to tighten it down...haha

Overall, while I'm annoyed at the install, once I get it tweaked and fully installed I'm sure I'll be plenty happy with the bumper. I'd even say I'd still consider buying IF products in the future, just as long as it's an individual sale and not a group buy situation.
