http://www.knfilters.com/universal/apollo.htmvs something like this but home made and sealed http://www.volant.com/edetail.asp?ID=97Now question is I have the latter, but was considering the K&N to run to the snorkel and create more space in the engine bay; however if rain were to get down the snorkel would the K&N be a bad choice because there is no where for it to go but through the filter; where as w the box the water collects at the bottom of it, eventually evaporating from the heat. Also performance wise, which one is boss?

This is a 2g perspective but I prefer volant. I had K&N CAI on my frontier and it did ok no real complaints. However, on the X I have the Volant. I like the enclosed box and the gains are comparable. Trailwise and if you do go snorkel, I vote volant. That Apollo does look interesting though.
