Well that would be a waste of money in my opinion.

That's what most of the guys I know who have SAS'd have done so far. When's the last time you've seen an SAS'd X on the trail?

Every SAS Xterra I know is either broken, never wheeled or sold. Every single one.

Dana (Powerguy37) has a leaf sprung SAS Xterra and it's still being wheeled often and hard.
His setup has proven reliable and flexes a ton while maintaining good ride quality on 35's.

When I was putting together my SAS parts I was going with a leaf sprung suspension over the Crapmini setup.
I ended up with a fully built waggy dana 44, and majority of parts ready to go but my truck died.

All my parts were sold to Richie, Silversuper for use on his Frontier Crew Cab short bed. :-)

Yes he did. Painted all the parts orange, OK4WD installed it. He sold the truck and disappeared right after.
No you can't go back to IFS.

After you SAS your truck you stop wheeling, stop participating, disappear and cut all the wheeling friends you've made over the past few years out of your life... You ether sell your X or let it rust away in your yard...

Tom, you're right about that. I've seen a lot of people sell soon after they SAS their X. Me, Mehdi, and Brock and Michael are the only ones I know that still have X's after doing the swap. I wheel just as much if not more since the swap. I think a lot of people don't realize that the truck will ride a lot different.

You are the only one out of the four you mention that brought a truck to ECXC last year...

What? That's not you, you haven't SAS'd...yet.
The only thing that applies to you in that statement is that you've stopped wheeling.

Doesn't need to be SAS'd to sit and rust away :( Luckily I am slowly tinkering on mine and should be ready for B2SR

I'm sorry that the X has been sitting in the driveway and Not wheeled in a LONG time.
It actually Pains me every time I walk by her.
The X is in the hands of a Good Friend of mine ( Curt ) getting some TLC.
See you Kids at ECXC!!!
Bring some good Smokes Tom and a bottle of the good stuff!

Wow what the shit just happened here?

The trucks that get SASed are usually people that don't DD it any more. It's a project truck. Priorities change and people sometimes focus on other things. if someone doesn't SAS and stops wheeling no one blinks an eye at it..

If they don't want to wheel it so be it. Why get nasty over that fact.

Rome!! I for one can't wait to see this thing SASed! You've got me signed up to help out. Anything you need, I'll bring it down.

No one is getting nasty yo. Just stating what I've seen.

...I say shit about everyone that disappears. Even those that are still ifs, especially if they were all gung-ho and active before they left.

I think Tommy is right on this one, although I have disappeared without the SAS. People build their truck with an SAS and then are gone. Why? I don't know, but it seems to happen a lot.

Whatever happened to Mike (Svendog)? Have not heard from him in two years.

Awesome your coming to ECXC! If you need a place to stay i got a cabin if you want to sleep on the floor, might have a bunk open too.

I just looked at the Rugged Rocks SAS kit. Looks good and complete which is nice. Like you said it is pricey but SAS isn't cheap. I am putting this on the back burner now until i get more spare cash.

I still try to alternate driving the Xterra to work and around town, i hope it doesn't rot away.

I'll chime in here.

My truck has been SAS for 5 years and I'm still wheeling and driving it around. And even made a few NEXterra runs. Now I'm wheeling and driving it around in Texas so I only disappeared from the Northeast.
