Has anyone with the stock locker done the modification that lets you switch on your locker when ever you want?

Looking to build a 'harness' to plug into the existing setup.

I have not done the modification; but looking at the schematic and the thread, the modification to wiring should do the job.

I am not sure why anyone would want to lock the rear in 2wd. It would seem that 4wd, with Nissan's ABLS system, would be more effective if additonal traction is needed. I would suspect that 4 low locked would also produce more traction that 4 high locked. If you are going fast enough to need 4 high, you should not need to be locked.

YMMV

That is true, but I want to do it because the locker takes for ever to engage. This mod fixes the delay on the locker.

Just FYI: The delay is part of a 'full engage' verification. With the by-pass you circumvent the 'check'.

I wish it wouldnt take 10 mins. From what i have read, it engages and disengages within a few seconds with mod. I think they designed it so soccermoms are not driving to the mall with the locker on just because there is a light snow storm.

Mine locks and unlocks within a few seconds. Just have to move a little to get things to mesh. The ALBS system works very well at low rpm. You should only use the locker when needed in low range.

Yeah, my locker definitely does not take 10 minutes to engage; it's more like seconds, as Tom just mentioned.

I have not tried to engage the locker in a while. Il have to head out to the power lines behind my house test it out again. I'm just running out of cheap mods for my X.

Now comes the expensive ones. Hold I tight and pick up some overshifts. It's going to be an expensive ride!

If you have the e-locker, I assume you have the Pro-4X edition. Another cheap mod is the roof light mod, whereby you bypass the high-beam restriction on when those lights can be turned on. That mod is posted somewhere on the NewX site.

Some of us are not blessed with the factory roof lights.
