Well, some of you may have heard me talk about this. If you haven't, hear's my story.
Roby, the owner of
Draken Off Road, had seen my truck at the Back To School Run in 2009, and said he could design a front winch bumper. He and I have been chatting back and forth for the past 2 years. He had put together some 3-D images for the bumper, which I was pleased with. All he needed was a truck to make the prototype.
Well, I finally found some time to get my truck to him. And after chatting a bit more, he's not only going to design a front bumper, but he's also going to design a rear bumper with tire carrier and sliders.
I have asked Roby to provide me with some pictures as the project progresses. Here are a couple from the first stage - stock bumpers off!
As I receive updates and pictures from him, I will post them here. I'm getting excited myself, and can't wait to see the final product!
UPDATE - 8/31/11Here are some pics of the front bumper design. Roby is wrapping up the rear bumper and slider designs this week, hopefully. He's running off generator right now due to the storm this past weekend.

Bumper will be made out of 1/4" steel, and will be about 135 lbs. The 2 scratch marks on either side of the winch opening are Roby's personal signature design. The next 2 vertical holes I'm not sure what those are for, although they could be just part of the CAD design. The next 3 holes - 2 small ones with a large one in the middle - is for the D-rings. The far slots are where the factory fog lights will be located behind.
On the side view, there is a T-notch. That is specifically for a Hi-Lift jack lifting point.

UPDATE - 10/18/11I finally have some shots of the bumper tack welded together!!
