 Post subject: front hook?
PostPosted: Mon Nov 07, 2005 9:12 pm
just curious,

my '02 X does not have a front tow hook, it just has the slot in the frame that you can use as a tow point. its a pain to use and after this weekends extractions a front hook would be much more convienient.

is there an adapter hook or anything i can use?

You can get a tow hook from Nissan and bolt it in there. It is threaded for it. There are also other, less expensive hooks that will fit. Look under the front passenger frame, just behind the bumper horns and you will see where it goes,

not sure where you would put a rear tow hook. most use tow hitches as their rear tow point.

Ah after this past weekend it became clear a rear tow point is needed. I took my $100 gift cert for AC from NIORA event and bought myself one. Plus now I can use my hitch bike/ski rack and tow my utility trailer.

AC has them, you might also want to check out Tractor Supply Company. They have a lot of parts at a good price. See if you can find one with the same holes, get some metric, grade 8 bolts and you'll be set.;)
