Hi my name is randy, and I'm a repeat Xterra owner. I was looking for a small SUV back in 2000 that could handle NH winter ski trips, climbing trips, tow a small boat trailer, fit a family of 4, etc.

Besides the obvious marketing that seemed to be targeting me :) The Ford Escape wan't out yet which was the other one that was coming out for the small, lower cost SUV slot. Took it for a test drive, and that was Xterra #1. Nine years later, I had a bigger boat to tow and the X' was all the Boston driving was starting to take it's toll, so it was tradein time. I initially hated that the X had "grown" but I got used to it. Now I just use it on weekends, mostly to get me to trailheads to go hiking/climbing/backpacking with a little off-roading thrown in to mix it up a bit.
