Well the Dealership across the street is closing on Fri. after 24 years.
They got all the employees together and said that they were shutting the doors in thirty days.
But it's been a week and a half and most of the 29 people are gone. They had Chrysler, VW and Mazda.
They are keeping the BMW store open for now.

With that said, My Boss layed off one person in each department Today at my Honda Dealership.
They were Hourly or salary people.
The only good thing of being Flat rate in these times, is that even if I'm not working I'm not costing the Dealership anything to be there.

So I missed the Axe this time.

The problem is that the Big money Tech is sometimes the one to go first.
Because they can get more profit for the same hour from another lower Tech.
There are only Three of us on the Higher end of the pay scale.
So I'm Playing it one week at a time.

Ernie

Best of luck avoiding that unwanted Axe. Times are tough and so must we be.

Thanks guys  So far so Good

Its the Newport Autocenter Chrysler, VW and Mazda thats Closing.
They had jeep and Suzuki too at one time.
He also sold his Ford Dealership in Newport.
And He had Inskip Mercedes, Lexus, acura and Bmw in Warwick R.I.
that was sold a couple years back. For $59,000,000!!!!!!!

This Leaves on Aquidneck Island
Barry's GM auto mall, Volvo and Nissian.
Newport Toyota and Hyundai
And Us Saccucci Honda.

Also Barry's has sold there Honda and VW dealers in Dartmouth Mass.
That leaves his Nissian and Volvo there.

The Plus Factor in this is that We do work on all vehicles
so we will get some of the other dealers cars for repairs Hopefully.
A lot of the people living here don't like to leaving the Island for anything.
Like shopping or getting cars repaired, Ect...

Dang Ernie

Good luck on dodging the Axe.

I swung by the local Nissan dealer a while back. Didn't really get a good feeling with them. Couldn't tell you what it was but just didn't feel right.

See you Saturday Morning
