Looking for a dual axle trailer to haul my 4Runner around with. Has to be atleast 7000lb cap and atleast 16' long. Electric brakes are a definate, preferably on both axles. The runner is about 77" wide, aired down, so something around 80" or so would be best....Thanks

Are you still looking for this trailer? I spotted one in Northern NJ the other day. Didn't stop, but would if you are still interested. I just know it is a tandeem axle.

I drove by yesterday and the forsale sign was gone. Might be in the area again this weekend so I will ask.

If you can't get to it, don't worry. I'll be away from the computer all next week anyways since we'll be up in the Adirondacks all week.

I am out of here to. heading to SC.

This is the first summer in years I don't see myself getting up to the Adirondacks for some camping.

Where do you usually go in the Adirondacks? My family has a camp up outside of OldForge, between there and Inlet on 4th Lake.

I go up to the Saranac Lake Area. In perticular Rollins Pond, Floodwood pond, and Upper Saranac Lake. (Halfway between Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake)

We also have a family friend who has a vacation home on Schroon Lake.

Never been to Old Forge or the Western Half of the Adirondacks. Long Lake is about as west as I have been. However, I am sure it is just as spectacular as the rest of the park.

We were actually going to head up to Saranac for the weekend but decided against it since we got lazy in planning it...

The amount of people coming into OldForge now is sort of ruining the town. It's nice once you get through town. Not much off-roading at all in the area though. Lived up there in the summers when I was in college and there are a lot of trails, but just not much difficult wheeling...

Funny you say there are too many people. Saranac Lake is the same way. I remember when I was a kid that nobody would be up there. now I feel like I am in Manhattan. I completely avoid Lake Placid these days.

Canoeing and Hiking is more like follow the leader then enjoyment. Plus people can be complete slobs and disrespectful. Sorry for the rant.

I've been able to find a lot of trails to hike that most people, except locals know about. It also helps that you can't get to them in a car  We joke that OldForge is slowly turning into a mini Lake Placid.
The one thing that I get really frustrated about is how 90% of the people boating on the chain, have no clue about boating safety. They all just assume everyone gets out of thier way, and buzz the camps kicking wakes into the docks.

Jeff, we used to camp a lot on Piseco when I was a kid; at the state campground. I used to hike up and down Panther Mountain all day long, since the water is usually freezing there.
If you wanted to meet up I may be able to. I know Old Forge is about 25 miles to Piseco, but that's through the wilderness. Driving is more like 70-75 miles.

BTW: I just drove past the trailer and the 4-sale sign is back up. Did stop though.

That sucks a mini-lake placid is no fun. I hear you about the boats. Fortunately they limit motors to under 5 hp on the lakes I go on. However, we sometimes end up on lakes with no restrictions. Watch out.

Would scare the crap out of me when I worked at a High Adventure camp up there and I had 5 or 6 canoe's with a bunch of kids in them.

No problem, I may have found one local in craigslist.

I'm constantly skiing or kneeboarding so I never do well around the restricted lakes.
I used to lifeguard at the beach in Inlet at the north end of 4th Lake, and people would constantly buzz the swimming area.
It was also much fun when I would take the boat to work, and have to stop every 2 minutes because no one understands the right of way with boats.

You mean that boats under power do not have the right away or pass on port or stay on the right side in a channel?
