No they seem to grasp that they have to stay on the right side while passing through the channels, except a few go right down the center because they have to be "extra careful" about not dinging up the prop. Even though it's still 10ft deep on either side.
Basically if 2 boats are coming to a T, the boat on the right has the right of way. Just like driving a car, but most people up there can't seem to grasp that. I have always wondered why they don't require a boating license to drive a boat with over XXHP....

Say hello to Old Forge. I have not spent enough time up there this year. I (used) to go up a lot to kayak the Moose and a few other creeks up there, when the water is running. Also mountain bike and hike.

Love Slickers. The new Daker's is a beautiful building, but it's just not the same as the old place. If you go to Mountain Man, say hello to Rob for me.

Yup, I was told that the lakes are up about a foot or two from all the rain....so the moose should be moving well

The new Daiker's is horrible. I worked there when they were building the new building and I'm honestly suprised it ever opened. I just wish there were more places to eat outside now. Daiker's only has about 6 outside tables now...

Yeah, the rivers should be running great! Too bad I'm busy all weekend. My kayaking has gone to crap.

It took them forever to build the new Dakers, but, you're right, I'm not happy with the place.

Funny, I go there all the time, always go to Slickers, but there are many places I have never been to. Just seem to go with the old favorites, where I know people.

Oh, and if you can get around the tourists, Keys is great for breakfast.

Yeah our camp is about a 1/4 mile north up 28 from Daiker's. Red Dog is pretty good for dinner also but you always have to wait since they only have 10 or so tables.
They re-opened Wood's Inn a couple years ago and it is a real nice place to have dinner. They did a great job restoring it.

My wife's best friend's family owned Keys up until this past winter, when they sold it. Since The Farm closed 2 years ago I don't really go out to breakfast anymore up there. When I do I go up to the Tamarac in Inlet or Hard Times in Eagle Bay. I'll grab donuts from the bakery in Inlet occasionally too.

Hey Chris, BTW, happy late b-day.

Why don't we just build you one to your specs? Have you seen the one I did this past summer? I would have to say that it would hold close to 10,000 lbs, I had 5500lbs on it and it didn't even seem like it was there. It has a 14' by 6' 6" or 8" deck, 18' overall. Only thing I don't like is that it's too tall.

If you had all the materials, I could have it done in about two weeks, weather permitting.

let me know.

Tim

Thanks Tim, happy belated b-day to you too...

Nope, I didn't see that. I have been thinking of building one, but I haven't even had any time to do some of the work I was planning on the 4runner. Almost the entire house is being remodeled, so I've been busy with that lately. I think if I don't find a trailer by March-April I'd definately consider building it.

I'll sell the one I have for $3000, after it's finished. Only thing left is lights and wire for lights and brakes. Finish side rails, put on fenders, and a little more work on ramps. Then to get the title. I'll send you some pics when I get a chance to take some.

If you wanted it to be lower, cause the deck is about 26" off the ground, it would be about $1200 more, new axles are $600 each and hold 5200lbs each.

Tim

No offense dude, but are you serious? No thanks...

Where are you buying axles from? I can get brand new 5k axles w/ e-brakes for $300.
