What's the Dropbox link? I wasn't aware there was a Nexterra Dropbox folder.

Suresh, I have an Xterra folder within my Dropbox account. I shared the link with Scott as a place to be able to dump our pics from our outings. I was just "formally" giving Scott permission to share it with whoever thought would benefit from it.

Ok cool....as long as folks understand its a personal Dropbox & not an official Nexterra one, it should be ok.

Any 4th of July wheeling plans getting kicked around? This is a rare weekend where there isn't anything all ready planned for us.

Looks like we're going out Friday morning if you'd care to join us. 9 AM in East Granby, CT ready to roll. I'll have muffins and coffee for refills to top off your mug.

There room for a few more to join us.

Scott

Fiachra, it was good meeting you Sunday. Too bad there wasn't a bunch of time afterwards to wheel. Tony, I hope you can make it. Hows the locker? Given it a work out yet?

So far it's 3 confirmed (Jeff, westracing01, & me) and Tony as a possible. Weather is supposed to be beautiful!

Scott

Hope you had fun, life just isn't allowing much wheeling time....locker has gotten a workout back and forth to work, that's about it,haven't had a chance to really test it yet.

We had a great time today. It was me in my Rubicon, Scott in his X, Mike (westracing01) in his Frontier, and Keith/Kristin/Jackson in their Jeep. Conditions were muddy & wet compared to how dry it's been. No major issues, but we decided to try a new trail that stopped us at a 4-foot-deep mud hole. Luckily, we got out and scoped it out first - about 12" of water and 30-36" of soft mud under that. No way we were going to go through it. Turning around on the tight trail was a challenge, and that's where Mike caught a CV joint boot on some shrubbery.

Here's a crappy picture:
(I'll try to post a few screen shots from the videos I took on Monday)

July 3rd, what a beautiful day for wheeling Friday. As Jeff already noted every trail was a bit wetter and muddier than it's been so far this year. With four well modified rigs we churned though the trails at good speed. Good enough to try a new section that didn't work out, the ATV'ers had built a board walk around the hole. Jeff's not kidding on the depth we were able to poke a stick down into it 5'ft. I didn't realize Mike got the boot damage, that sucks.

With all the mud, I'm still very pleased with the upgrade to the STMax 255/85/16s, they are a definite step up from the AT3s for mud.

No pictures, I was running a new Garmin dash cam but I'm struggling with the memory card. Got it working for close to an hour of play back and software transfer then it crashed. Now it's stating I need to format the card before it's usable. Catch 22, if I format it I lose the Garmin software and the 4 hours of video. If I don't, the computer won't read it. Oh well I'll give it a try on my work computer and see if the newer system works better. If so, hopefully I'll have some screen shots to post.

Scott

Actually, I tore the boot about 30 mins in on the first trail. I was behind Keith and a spider the size of a half dollar crawled down my windshield. I was looking at that at not at the limb Keith ran over. I didn't avoid it and it went between the tie rod, LCA and CV shaft and got the boot. Wheeled the rest of the day like that. LOL. The half shaft broke pulling into my driveway.

Had a great time. Nice little set of trails. I'm just glad we were able to turn around on that narrow trail and didn't have to back all the way out.

Mike, sorry to hear about the half Axle, Damn Spiders!!!

Well my work computer seems fully capable to read the memory card so I have 4 hours of 4 minute wheeling video segments. Anyone have a suggestion for the best way to shrink them in file size and post portions? Good shareware or at least good basic editor and compressor software?

This is the mud/water hole that turned us back, the giveaway was the board walk built around it by the ATV/dirt bike/snowmobile crew.

Note the stick Keith is using to probe the depths:

Here he is with the stick on the deck: 5-ft of quagmire.

Jeff tried to convince me that I could hydroplane across it but refused to go first
