Scott & I did a little exploring up in the Sandisfield MA area on Sunday.
Terrain was very rocky & quite challenging in areas. Here are some screen shots from my GoPro. Sorry for the poor quality, I'm going to work on getting the GoPro to focus a little farther out.

Are we wusses for running the air conditioner while wheeling? It was hot Sunday even up in the hills. And the winch, after carrying it around for the last couple of years, I finally needed it, and the Engo worked very well. If I keep taking on serious rock gardens I'm going to have to loose the sway bars. I so wish someone would design a quick disconnect sway bar like the Rubicon's. I drive fairly aggressively on pavement and the sway bars help there.

We played around on new (to us) trails for about 5 hours. Some sections were more challenging than others but it was nice seeing the new trails. There is promise of even more trails there we didn't get to.

Here's a shot of Jeff, taken at the bottom of a rocky hill section that was deceivingly tough. I need to learn to edit video to be able to show how the trail (wet slippery rocks) tossed us around.

Bottom line - it was a great day!

Damn, that looks like a nice set of trails! Good for a fall run. Wet slippery leaves to make it even more of a challenge.

Jeff & I w/ 15 min notice decided to head out to our normal area and found it very dry. So for the second time this month we crossed the beaver bog. First time the camera somehow got unplugged and didn't catch the action. This time I got it. So here is my first attempt at posting a video:

Fingers crossed! D'oh! I can't figure out how to embed it but the link works.

I don't know if anyone is left in the area but if you are it looks like Jeff and I are going to head out Sunday for our usual 1/2 day of wheeling. Final plans are still flexible, so let us know if you'd care to come along.

We had a fun day on Sunday. Nothing too crazy.

Here are a few stills taken from my video of the water crossing on Sunday.

Sept 25 Friday night run. Back ground - Wednesday, at work I was thinking about the Halloween Run coming up, and I was struck by a thought; Why don't we try our trails one night to tune up. "Hey Jeff - what do you think?" It pays to have your wheeling buddy on the other side of the cubical wall. "What ya-uh doing Friday?"

So w/ two days notice we're off on a night run. Jeff (JAC04), Matt (Patchy), Michelle and myself aired down and headed into the woods last night about 8:10 pm. We ran in that order so Michelle's baby is featured in my dash camera, some one else will have to post pictures of the other vehicles. All photos are pulled off my dash camera video.

We got to climb over some obstacles:

Michelle even showed off only using 3 wheels to get over this rock:

We crossed water:

wound through the woods:

Crossed Bridges:

And down more trails:

We wrapped it up about 11:15 cause Michelle had to go bar hopping and Matt had to work today. Besides pin striping I don't think anyone did any damage, other than me loosing a tire stem cap while airing down. Matt proved invaluable by having a handy replacement. Thanks again Matt!

Me, I was close to falling asleep by the time I got home, a bit after midnight.

Fun time that we will have to repeat!

Scott

A few pictures from the night run. It was a bunch of fun. The trails look way different at night.
