Been thinking about doing one of these for a little while now - just a jaunt to Freetown State Forest and Copicut for a quick dip in the mud. My girlfriend is in town this weekend and I've been meaning to get her out on the trails, so I figured I'd set it up to see if anyone else wants to get out for a morning.

The idea is to meet up at the Mobil between 9-10 AM, eat Munchkins and shoot the s*** for a little bit (bring your own coffee), then hit the trails (maybe even twice) - be done by lunch. Gotta be back in Boston for work that afternoon.

EDIT: I'm helping rcheliman with a welding project Saturday, then I have work that afternoon, so Sunday morning is the time that works best for me. Alternative date would have to be next week.

For new guys who have never done Freetown, it is totally stock-friendly - you could probably take a unicycle through it. Still recommending you remove step rails and mud flaps.

Who's up?

I'd like to join you, but I'll be watching Michael that morning while Cindi works.

If things should change, I'll let you know.

You can watch him bounce up and down in his child seat as you whip through Copicut 8)

I'm busy in the morning but I was planning on heading down on Saturday afternoon to scratch the wheeling itch. We're expecting rain Friday night so it should be good and muddy.

Looks like I'm pushing it back to Sunday morning since Dave (rcheliman, not SilverX) wants to do his stuff Saturday morning. It's also Mother's Day...Word To Yo Momma Run?

Dave, if you want to host a gathering Saturday afternoon, feel free to get organizing :)

Okay, I'm on for the morning! Looks like it will just be me and David, but a new guy from TNX has expressed interest in going as well.

The meetup will be the Mobil station at 69 S Main St, Assonet, MA 02702.

I will plan on being there around 9:30 - we'll hit the trail at 10:00.

Word to yo mommas!

Not sure if SilverX made it out, but I had a delayed start - didn't get there until about 1:00. Copicut was Copicut, but for some reason Ledge was closed off, so I putzed around the dirt roads behind the ranger station for a little while (and somehow ended up exiting through Copicut again).
