I got this email today..thought it might be a good chance for you Buffalo folk to learn some local trails.

Quote:
February Seasonal Road Run / Meet & Greet

Open to everyone including stockers (within limits)
Date: The 11th of February, with a NO SNOW date as the 25th. Rescheduling will be announced here in this topic.

Starting Point for Seasonal Roads:The Country Fair gas station at the end
of the 219 expressway in Springville NY

Meeting Time: Arrive BY 10AM, leave BY 10:15. This will
allow time for a basic equipment check and rig order.

Path Traveled: We'll be heading east through Springville and starting on
the backside of West Valley. Then travel by seasonal roads to a main
road going into West Valley. South through West Valley on 240 until we
can pick up more seasonal roads connecting West Valley to 242. At that
point we can split a group off for those wanting a harder challenge.
There is a closed road connecting 242 to Bryant Hill Road. This road was
rutted at last notice. 242 can be taken into Ellicottville.

Equipment Requirements:
'Easy' Seasonal roads; a minimum of one GOOD towpoint and aggressive tires. This needs to be a real towpoint. Nobody wants to cut their strap up on your bumper. At least one 'built' rig will take the
lead to make sure the roads are at least passable.
'Closed' road at the end: 2 towpoints, aggressive tires bigger than stock, mild amount of lift.

The closed road is more than likely not passable by 'stock' vehicles
without a lot of trouble. Other requirements; dress warm, bring some
munchies in case you have to wait, bring a camera if you want some pics.
CB Channel: For those who have them, channel 4. Having a set
channel ahead of time should make sure everyone's got the word and save possible confusion.
'Critical Mass': For the trailride portion, 3 rig minimum.

Meet & Greet: The Depot in Ellicottville NY
Time: 3PM, give or take depending on 'trail' conditions. We'll do our best to make sure nobody shows up for only the M&G and is the only one there at first.

EVERYONE IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO JOIN IN ON THIS RIDE. THIS INCLUDES THOSE WITH "OTHER THAN JEEP VEHICLES" WHO ARE ON THE FORUM, LURKERS, THOSE WHO'VE CHECKED US OUT BUT NEVER POSTED. COME ON OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN, GET TO KNOW THE CLUB.

Dan, I'd much rather go to Paragon with NIORA!...but the difference is a 30min ride to the rendezvous point and a 1/2 day event vs a 6hr ride to hazleton, PA and spending two nights there, resulting in a 3 day event...

I wasn't able to make it, and I realized that quite a while ago, so I never bothered posting on their site. As far as I know, Sarah actually went though...

maybe ill be nice eh? ha!

yes, i went. they're a good group of people.. a lot of knowledge amongst them and experience. they seemed to open up more as the day went on so that was nice.. one of the mods on the board is looking into starting a WNY wheeling club as well as to include everyone, not just jeeps. we did some snowy trails, nothing too challenging, but still a good time. remember that bottle of jack?-ha, its almost killed!!!
here are some pics:

there were i think in total like 23 trucks.. all jeeps except myself and the huge ass dakota [that got stuck, btw!!!] i didnt get stuck once, and i owe it all to my awesome tires.. i love them.
hopefully there will be some more mixed runs like this, i think itd be fun to see whose capable of what :) hell.. i think i smell a challenge coming on... :)
