Below is "Betsy" I named her Betsy because my kids cracked me up asking if my X was called Betsy. I have gotten into the habit (sadly I slip now and then) of saying "C'mon Betsy!" when working on her instead of my usual "Mother F*****"

True story. I laughed all day after this happened, I was in my X taking the kids to daycare when the topic came upon bad words. They claimed they knew two that started with "F" I said "I hope not. You shouldn't use those words" My 5 year old promptly states "Unless you get older and you are working on your motorcycle and it starts to fall" I could barely contain my laughter when I said "Not even then" and he replied "But that happened to you"

Needless to say my wife was not as amused as I was :)

Here is Betsy:

Has new Michelin Commander II tires now front and back also replaced the EBAY "Sons of Anarchy" style mirrors with OEM.

Came with both a solo and the stock king/queen style.

She isn't behind the bike at all :) I probably couldn't pay her to ride on the back.

And my calling her my "Old Lady" and saying "Now we need to get biker clothes, biker friends, go to biker events" isn't helping :)

Naw this bike is all me, my own dream to complete the bucket list. I had something happen to me this year that made me realize putting off until tomorrow is ok when your 22 -as long as you don't wait until you are 51 and suddenly realize you never did it :)

EDITED for OP for current date and situation:

I have all the parts, or will have them before the day we do it (i need that retention loop). I'll prep by soaking in Kroil a few days prior.

What weekends work best for all of you locals?

Saturday or Sunday work for me. If you have access to a garage that's a plus, my driveway is a steep angle and with snow we can't use the street.

Any and all help is not only appreciated but warmly received. Without a lift I can't wheel.

With the weather in the 30's or below that outdoor wrenching for anything besides fixing breakage is not happening until the spring for this old guy. Sorry.

No need to apologize guys. I get it. I undestand. Every rugby injury, every silly thing I did that ended up wth me in the ER, plus my arthritis speaks to me in this weather....sadly loud and clear :)

But I have to try, and surely there has to be someone out there who doesnt mind or can help.

Curt, don't be surprised if I wind up taking you up on that :) My wife has family in Walpole and I could sell it as "you go visit them and I'll work on my X" kinda thing :)

I know they do "short stays" at motels there , didn't realize they did "short term leases" for garages.

My ultimate goal is to add a building somewhere in my yard , that will more or less be a work area/garage and some storage.

My thought is to have driveway loop along right side of house (a lot of people do that here) and then "T" or dead-end into that garage building. Would make everything from oil changes to wrenching a LOT easier and I'd have a flat surface too.

Part II would be to get a Daily Driver and make the X just for offroading and weekends or to have as backup if she is on stands for a few days.

Please don't. Having this one going on for as long as it has really seems to be enough.

(What I mean by "please don't" is, Please Don't Start Another Thread -for the exact same thing as had been done in the past. I was unaware that the thread had been locked at the time I posted.)
