Jeff,
Did you clean them when you got them? I ran mine outside of the axle since the SAS and they could have built up enough road grime during that time to affect their readings. I found this article that explains that your ABS light can come on if they get dirty. The solution is to clean them up. http://www.advanceautoparts.com/english ... 701as.html

I'm about to go on lunch here and I'll go down and unplug it. Then when I leave for the day I've just got to plug it back in. That will give it 4 hours to stew over it. ;)

Jordan brings up another great point. My ABS light comes on sometimes while offroading because of the mud but it usually clears in a short time.

With all the mud and crap under your truck, half of which was in my eyes and ears this weekend, that may be another part of your problem.

Man, you need to invest in a pressure washer. That should be your next mod. :D

Disconnected from 12:00-4:30 and the lights came on after 2 miles of driving.

Friday night I'll take the ABS line off and clean off the ends.

No Jeff, it's not the ends of the ABS lines, it's that steel cog inside the rotor that is probably the cause.

Drive through some clean water or drive through a good rain storm. All that red clay mud you have in there is probably messing with the magnetic sensors.

You now know what it's like to own a Rover  My Discovery always looked like a christmas tree, I swore if I ever had another it would be just the frame/body...

The ABS lights on the Rover would always be dirty or bad ABS sensors...

Also to flash the computer on the new X's, is it just unplugging the battery? or is there anything more? I know to get my Dodge reflashed I have to take it to the dealer, but they do it for free....

On the first gen X's it would sometimes clear in an hour, but sometimes I would have to let it sit overnight. Not sure about the next gen.

Now I clear mine myself with my computer, which reminds me Jeff, we never hooked it up to yours. I'll have it with me next week.

Well, I'll unplug it overnight, I don't have a problem that.

Thanks.

So this morning the light came on for a few seconds then went away. Maybe a mile or two and it came back on and stayed on. :freak:

I got another solution to try if the cleaning process does not work. I am wondering if the last abs sensor you plugged in got busted some how. We know that if both rear sensors are pulled or not working, that your brake light comes on and 4wd cluster is off. Pull the sensor that you know works (the first one you plugged in I beleive), but leave in the other. Take it for a spin around the block and see if that brake light comes on and if the 4wd cluster goes out. If it does, then the last abs sensor you plugged in is faulty. But be sure to try the cleaning process first, because that might just be the problem with it.

I will keep trying to dig up solutions and hopefully we can get your lights off soon.
